So... this Full Moon in Leo is a super duper special one!!
It's the 2nd Full Moon in 1 month!! That is a special occurrence and one we call "Blue Moon". You know, you have heard the saying "Once in a Blue Moon" ? Well now you know what it means. Even though the saying is what it is... in reality Blue Moons happen every 2.7 years.
How lucky are we to be able to release the things that no longer serve us not just once this month, but twice!!!
In addition to all that extra sweeping away abilities we have the month... we also are blessed with a Lunar Eclipse!!
The Lunar Eclipse will start to take place on Wednesday Jan. 31st, 2018 at 2:51 am PST.
Super Moon...
The Moon on 1/31 will be closer to our Earth. The SuperMoon will look 14% bigger and 30% brighter than normal.
Another term you might hear during this time is that the Full Moon is in perigee.
Perigee: The point on the Moon's orbit closest to Earth.
Apogee: The point on the Moon's orbit farthest away from Earth.

Is another word you will hear the Moon called during this time... basically it's the triple threat!!

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE ...
We are in for a treat tonight as the 1st Lunar Eclipse in 2018 will be under way!!
The Lunar Eclipse can only happen on a Full Moon. This is the only time when it's possible for the Moon to be directly opposite of the Sun in our sky... and pass through the Earth's dark umbral shadow!
This total Lunar Eclipse is also known as a "Blood Moon" as the moon will appear blood red! What happens is the Moon will be entirely inside the Earths dark umbral shadow. ((Umbral: Inner core of total darkness,The disc of the Sun is completely blocked.)) This usually takes place about 1hour 40mins in the umbral. All and all the whole "show" of this Total Lunar Eclipse can last up to 6 hours long as it moves from umbral and back out again.
There are some reports that claim we haven't seen a Blue Moon Eclipse in 150 years, however....
The last time we had a Blue Moon, Lunar Eclipse on Earth was Dec. 30th, 1982. However it's been 150 years since America has witness this lovely event! So it's been quite sometime since we had one...so we are lucky duckies to be able to witness this one!!
Eclipses always come in pairs. The Lunar Eclipse always occurs 2 weeks before or after a Solar Eclipse. Unlike Solar Eclipses that are only visible in specific places, Lunar Eclipses are visible from anywhere, so long as it's night time!
The Next Eclipse we will have is a Solar Eclipse on Feb. 15th, 2018 and it will be a partial Solar Eclipse. Remember to be kind to your eyes and NEVER look directly into a Solar Eclipse!
When To See It...
If you live in North America or the Hawaiian Islands... the Lunar Eclipse will be visible for you before sunrise on Jan. 31st, 2018.
If you live in the Middle East, Australia, Asia, New Zealand, or Indonesia you will be seeing the Lunar Eclipse the evening hours after sunset on Jan. 31st, 2018.
The best time for us here in California to see this Lunar Eclipse will be right before the time of totality (6:08 am) For us here on the West Coast... here is the breakdown of how this amazing Eclipse will take place:
